The Troodon is a common presence in many video games. A small, raptor-like dinosaur known for its speed and ferocity. With this interpretation, we leaned fully into those traits, pushing the design to feel more intense and memorable.
Its defining features, particularly the claws, were heavily exaggerated—almost to a comical degree—to emphasize its threat and give it a stronger gameplay and visual identity. Animation further supported this, highlighting the claws to enhance both personality and menace.
At the same time, we grounded the creature in real-world inspiration. Drawing from modern bird features, we incorporated feathering with subtle, vibrant coloration to give a naturalistic touch and reinforce its connection to present-day animals.
Designed for an indie dinosaur game, this asset was built to be fully game-ready.
My role included contributing to early concept direction and design ideation, followed by full execution of the asset. I was responsible for high and low poly modeling, as well as texturing.
